Murdle books in Portuguese: 100 mysteries to solve with logic, clues and deduction
Murdle is the worldwide puzzle phenomenon created by G. T. Karber: logic puzzle books in which every page is a crime waiting to be solved. Follow the clues, interview the witnesses, fill in the deduction grid and find out who did it, with which weapon and where. At Loja dos Puzzles you will find every volume of the Portuguese edition by Presença, from Murdle #1 to #4 to the Murdle Júnior series for young detectives.
What is Murdle?
Murdle promises unique mysteries to solve with fun, logic and enthusiasm. Each mystery presents a small crime, a group of suspects, several weapons and several locations. Using the clues and the witness statements, you rule out possibilities on a grid until only one combination is left: the culprit, the weapon and the crime scene.
It is a pastime close to classic logic puzzles, but with humor, recurring characters such as Deductive Logico and a narrative that turns each case into a short detective story. It starts with elementary cases and climbs all the way to impossible, so it works both for people who have never solved a logic puzzle and for seasoned detectives.

All about the Murdle books
The story of a worldwide phenomenon
Murdle started in 2022 as a daily puzzle website created by G. T. Karber, an American computer programmer with a background in Mathematics and English Literature. Its online success was so great that the first book hit bookstores in 2023 and quickly became one of the best-selling titles in its genre, published in more than 20 countries and topping the Sunday Times bestseller lists.
In Portugal, the series is published by Editorial Presença, with a careful translation of the wordplay, suspect names and clues, so that the logic of every case works perfectly in Portuguese. The first volume arrived in June 2024 and the collection has kept growing ever since: Murdle #2, #3, #4 and the Murdle Júnior series.
Why Murdle is so addictive
The answer lies in the balance between simplicity and challenge. The rules fit on one page and the first case takes just a few minutes, but the difficulty rises gradually and each mystery adds a small new element: a clue about a suspect's star sign, a false statement, a map with hidden details.
There is also the storytelling. The suspects recur throughout the book, have distinct personalities and their own sense of humor, and the cases build a bigger story with Deductive Logico, the detective who accompanies the reader. The result is a book of logic puzzles that reads almost like a detective novel.
Murdle or Murdle Júnior: which one to choose?
The Murdle #1 to #4 volumes are aimed at adults and young people ages 12 and up, with cases ranging from elementary to impossible. If you are looking for a gift for an adult, for a game night or to take on vacation, any volume in the main series is a safe choice. Murdle #1 is the natural starting point and Murdle #4 is the most compact.
The Murdle Júnior series adapts the same mechanics for children ages 8 and up: fewer suspects per case, more direct clues, illustrations and a team of young detectives who accompany the reader. Murdle Júnior #1 and #2 are puzzle books; Murdle Júnior #3 is a mystery novel with puzzles to solve as you read, recommended for ages 10 to 14.
Benefits of logic puzzles
Solving Murdle mysteries trains skills that go far beyond entertainment. Deductive reasoning, attention to detail, working memory and the ability to organize information are exercised in every case. For children, Murdle Júnior helps develop careful reading, patience and a love of solving problems independently.
Just like puzzles for adults, Murdle books are a mindful break from the screen: all you need is a pencil, a few minutes and a little curiosity. Many readers do one mystery a day, like a morning coffee for the brain.
